FORJJ STANDARD RAILINGS
How to order Forjj Railings:
If you are not already referring to a plan or drawing, sketch out your intended layout paying attention to any changes of direction (for corner posts). If possible, measure the area where the railings are going. If this isn’t possible, you can often estimate distances using free tools such as Google Maps.
Most landscaping and fencing contractors will be happy to buy our full size railing panels and cut and re-drill these to suit your layout (please ensure that coatings are repaired on cut ends and note that any cutting will void our corrosion guarantee). Our “available from stock” railing panels are 2750mm [approx. 9’ ¼”] wide to achieve maximum 2830mm [approx 9’ 3½”] post-to-post.
We also offer an 1182mm [approx 3’ 10½”] shorter standard panel on quick turnaround for short runs or to step up rising ground.
Whichever you choose, order enough panels and posts to allow for cutting and waste. If you are in doubt about the number of panels and posts you might need, contact our friendly team for further advice.
Custom Size Railings
If you want a truly premium finish – or don’t want to damage the protective coatings – we can manufacture bespoke panels to suit your layout.
Common requests for bespoke panels are:
● Made-to-measure panel lengths
● Raked panels to suit changing ground heights
● Curved panels to follow landscape features
● Additional decorative features such as railheads, collars or baskets.
● Alternative styles, heights or colours.

Railing Finishes
Every Forjj steel railing is supplied with a hot-dip galvanised pre-treatment as standard – learn more by reading our guide for railing coatings. You can paint galvanised railings using appropriate paint or we can save you the hard work and factory finish (a process called polyester powder coating) in any colour. Our railings are available from stock in RAL9005 Jet Black. Read more about coatings and you can always contact us for additional colour options.

People often talk about (or search for) wrought iron railings and gates and we get asked if Forjj offers wrought iron railings. Wrought ironwork is a legacy product which is difficult and expensive to manufacture compared to the modern alternative of fabricated mild steel. Rest assured that our products live up to the quality and longevity of traditional wrought iron at a fraction of the cost.
